Ply-split braiding is an innovative textile technique, a kind of off-loom weaving where high-twist cords go through the centre of, or are split by, other cords. This two-day workshop is an introduction to ply-splitting, and gives a good grounding in the key 'stitches' or 'weaves' that are used. We start simply and build gradually, making braids, small mats and projects. The main tool for ply-splitting is the gripfid. These are supplied for use in the workshop and can be purchased if wished.
