With the backdrop of the Skiddaw massif journey on foot around the 24 acres of parkland visiting over 100 species of wild and domestic animals cared for in this beautiful setting by their qualified and highly motivated keepers. A range of engaging presentations take place daily bringing you closer to many of your favourite animals. Watch exhilarating Bird of Prey displays, educational Reptile talks and fun and interesting Lemur, Otter and Red Panda talks.
With conservation at the heart of our ethos we actively support three charities and as BIAZA members we participate in six endangered species programmes.
Specialising in home cooked wholesome food the cafe is a great asset to the park and serves a fantastic range of meals, snacks and sweet treats. There are also ample picnic facilities outdoor and under cover should you prefer. The gift shop provides a range of toys to suit all pockets and should be your first port of call for animal adoptions and keeper experience packages. There is an animal themed outdoor adventure play area! Come and see us...it’s a fun day out for all ages!

Alpaca Walking
Get up close and personal with our Alpacas, for participants aged 16 years and over.
Alpacas are friendly and inquisitive animals and just like us they enjoy a bit of fresh air and exercise. Meet our five boys Hugo, Hector, Herbie, Dougal and Marley. With one of our experienced keepers you will learn their individual personalities. Lead your one of these Alpacas on a walk around the Armathwaite Hall Estate, whilst taking in the stunning backdrop of the Lake District mountains. Cameras are essential! Alpaca walks are available year round and pre-booking is essential. Maximum 4 persons. participants must be 16 years and over. Duration 1 hour . The price includes all day entry into the Park.

Ultimate Animal Experience
The Ultimate Animal Experience is something that you will never forget! This experience is suitable for adults and children aged 8 years & over and is the perfect way to meet three of your favourite species of animal. Spend quality time with our Tapirs Muffin and Zico, the gentle giants that just loved to be groomed. One of our expert animal keepers will assist you to make a toy (enrichment) for our mob of Meerkats, a gregarious and entertaining bunch. You will then get to place it in their enclosure and watch them enjoying themselves. Last but certainly not least is a unique opportunity to step inside our Ring-Tailed Lemur enclosure to be enchanted by these gentle and endearing animals.

Bird of Prey Experience
An unique opportunity for anyone over 16 years old.
After enjoying a Bird of Prey flying display on the park your experience will begin. Our falconer will teach you how to recall and hold the birds, starting with an owl. Following this we move outside and step up a gear with one of our free flying hawks who will fly from tree to your gloved hand. Once you feel a little more confident there is the possibility that you may hold and fly one of our larger birds. There is ample opportunity for photos so bring your camera Hawk walks take place year round in the afternoon and pre-booking is essential.
There will be approximately 1.5-2km of walking during your experience, with the birds flying to your outstretched left arm. Please contact us in advance if you have any reduced mobility, so we can help with any assistance required.
Maximum 4 persons. Available to people of 16 years and over. Duration 1 hour. The price includes all day entry into the Park. If you have recently been in contact with poultry or wildfowl unfortunately this experience is currently not available.
